Firedog Ass (Patreon)

It was in a Starbucks the other week that I thought about arcs, asses, and how much I love both. I put stylus to tablet and whittled out a nice backshot of Mercedez, PrincessRei's arc OC with a spunky attitude and a thick butt. Well, thick by my style anyway. I know some OCs and other art can get way out there with the sheer sizes of butts.

Anyway, I wanted to see what I could do without inking. I hate inking. So I took the sketch and just started colouring, kind of like the request sketches I do, and with a simple Multiply-Shading layer, Overlay, Glow Dodge and such, I kept it quick, and I think it came out pretty good, especially considering the time put in. I may use this more often to get more and HD-worthy art out of just sketches.

Maybe it's just me, but I like the slight loose feel to sketch works, and the small smudges and gaps along the way help give a picture energy over stiff cleanliness with lineart. Lineart has its place, but I like the tradeoff in aesthetic. I hope you all enjoy! HD will be in the October ZIP.
