Black Key Incubus – Chapter 2 Cover Art (Patreon)

When I started this chapter, I thought to myself, "What's the least predictable plot direction we could take?" The answer: a battle-to-the-death demon tournament xD

Chapter 2 is all about starting the secondary major plot arc for Black Key Incubus: The Inferni Kai'ba. It's a tournament of strength for demons of royal bloodlines. Basically, it's so they can show off their power and might. The winner of this battle-royale-style tournament will inherit the Kingdom of All Damnation, aka Hell, and become the one true Demon King that rules over it.

Fun fact: I literally had no idea what to follow up chapter 1 with for the longest time. I had all the other demon characters planned out from the beginning, but I was lacking a means to tie them all together in a way that made sense. The Inferni Kai'ba was the result of me watching multiple anime shows that involved the classic Shōnen Jump battle tournament plot theme/trope. My only stipulation from those inspirations was I wanted to make something different, cuz let's be honest almost EVERY ANIME has a tournament of some kind nowadays. So I threw 10 demons together and said okay kill each other :P lol
