Let's keep in mind that this target was done 18 yrs ago and this data may have been shared to many since then. It is likely someone may have already found it.

You guys should do a new Target on this and see if you can get any more info. Interesting thing that dick saw a little mound and I'm guessing inside that mound is where they buried it.

I live on the Red River. Hundreds of people go stomping around for the gold every year. The land there is leased to hunters who bring their own metal detectors for some unknown reason :-). I wouldn't get too excited. Likely someone did find it long ago and told no one.

The key to finding this is determining what feature they relied on to find the exact location when they returned. However, rivers have a way of changing course over time. Especially those that flood frequently.
