Morning to all our subscribers. Got an early morning email, Dick was having storage issues so here's his predictions. As he mentions, we didn't publish the plane for the mentioned reasons but that came in with the post we did earlier. Here's the first post on Dick's AUGUST 2018 predictions He added an updated chart, lets see how August unfolds...

Hi Dick, (thanks for the update)... here's one for YOU. Hard drive (anti-crash protection). = (since hard drives are Sensitive to physical shocks- falls)... the simple solution is to place such devices on the FLOOR, because it cannot be knocked off the desk or crash to the floor if it is already on the floor to begin with. And, if you are really paranoid or want "anti-kick protection" from dancing feet or clumsy feet, or wild vacuum cleaners, or from other things falling from above and impacting the external harddrive, you could place a couple of cement (cinder) blocks around it. (Bunker mentality). (I've tripped over a few cables/cords myself & destroyed things by dragging them off the desk.) The simplest, least ugly protection would be to use some "Double-sided Carpet tape" to "attach" your sensitive gear onto the surface of the desk so they are not easily dragged to the floor.

How about remote viewing the pending bitcoin ETF decision due Sept. 30?

Hi Dick. Same thing happened to me 6 years ago. I now have a back-up drive to my back-up drive! ...and actually, a back-to that back-up as well. HA! I don't like cloud storage and I know it sounds over the top, but once you've lost your life's work, getting something like this in place let's you sleep worry free!

Hey Cindy. I kinda get the idea that they already have seen this event by the evidence of crypto prices are predicted to begin rising around Sept-Oct-November. If the SEC turned it down again in Sept, would probably prevent such a rise, or delay the rise. So I take the predicted increases, to mean the SEC will approve the ETF's in Sept, and the markets will begin to react upwardly... but even if the SEC balks again, I take it there will be OTHER "uplifting news" that may make the SEC's lack of approval to be kind of "unimportant" at the moment.

Funeral....John Mc Cain?

Anonymous

Good guess Donna. When John McCain dies, I'm sure Al Kaida, Isis, the Clinton Foundation, etc, and the White Helmets will send their ambassadors to the funeral, as they will have lost a big contributor & supporter, as well as representatives from Raytheon, General Dynamics, Blackwater, NSA, etc.

Mercury retrograde always comes with tech issues. Sorry for your back up drive

Anonymous

I’ve learned it the hard way, my daughter knocked over my external HDD several times in the past, and each time I lost everything. One external hard drive is NOT a back up if the files on it are the only copies you have. It’s merely a storage and it’s very fragile (more fragile than internal HDD). You need at least one backup drive of that storage, synch’d manually, and stored in a different location preferably.

Anonymous

dick you can get the data back from that hard drive - recovery companies are like magicians - all your data from any hard drive back on a new drive in days...just a thought, love all the work , keep it up

Great update..thanks..

Hey Dick, did you try and use any recovery software, they helped me recover a broken drive once, or call up some professional disc recovery service?

Lancet is a major medical journal. The biggest one in Britain. Would deal with pharmacologic issues. Cryptosporidium parvum is an intestinal parasite. Redaction sometimes happens in journals. Could this have nothing to do with cryptocurrency?

"Miss, the dog ate my homework...". It is time to set up a small server at home (or a NAS), and have it with RAID-1, which means the server will have 2 similar hard drives and keep two identical copies on each drive. In addition to that you make backups from time to time on another drive. And if really paranoid, take copies to some other location too. At least having a small server will avoid the accidents.

Indeed, the HD must have physical damage due to the hit on the floor, but much can be recovered with a pro service.

Anonymous

Yeah, I second the recovery attempt. Go to multiple computer shops/repair guys; I bet there's someone that can get things recovered without paying an arm and a leg - or should I say now - a Bit Coin.

NAS and raided drives are IT strategies for med/large corporations with IT staffs. Don't forget, a raid controller can go bad too and it did occur more than a handful of times in my 22+ yrs in IT. I HIGHLY recommend cloud storage for Dick like dropbox team ($60/month) No hardware or technical expertise needed.

Anonymous

and no, I have no affiliation with dropbox other than I use it for my personal backup.
