WIP - Event Horizon (Patreon)

Alright~

Here are some sketches I did for the "Event Horizon" creature. As expected, magical creature is the only way to go with this prompt.

The prompt is a difficult one, although on the bright side, it kinda match with the current Stellar Armaments series. So, for this one, I'm going with a straight forward, kinda surface level, visual interpretation of 'Event Horizon', the black hole image with photon rings. 

At first, I was gonna make Lirianyx, The Goddess of Starry Sky and Watcher of The Astral Border. But then when I look at the sphere and photon rings, it gave me the idea of making it into an 'eye'. Of course, when we talk about single eyed eldritch creature (and D&D theme), Beholder obviously comes up in my mind.

So I pivoted to this concept. An eldritch creature from outside the known realm, with a black hole as its 'core'. It's the natural predator of material world, a gluttonous being that suck in and crush every matter and light around it. It create an auxilary core that orbit around itself like a satelite, connected to its body by a tendril made of dust and particle of light. Perhaps a being that all the Stellar Watcher has been warned about by their goddess. Perhaps the very reason she created all of those armaments that was designed to bend gravity, light, and matters are to prepare for this being's eventual invasion to the material realm~
