Ink Imp

Voracis litterarius
Ink Imps, sometimes referred to as Inklings, are tiny fiendish creatures with a voracious appetite for written words and runes. They can absorb written words, not only those written with ink, but also engravings and other mediums. To them, words carry power, and the more ancient the language, the more power it gives them. Librarians, scholars, collectors, and spellcasters fear them due to their ability to devour words quickly and reproduce rapidly upon gaining power. This is especially dangerous for spellcasters, as they are dealing with more powerful runes, incantations, and glyphs. Ink Imps also possess the ability to take over a living creature's body, controlling it and consuming its memory. When they do, they appear as writhing runes on the creature's skin. According to some folklore, "Inkling are born when a wizard tells a lie."

I loooove this one.

Truly the Archives's worst nightmare. The bookwurm can severely damage property but this one will damage the minds of unfortunate researchers before they can repair the damaged books.

Definitely, and unlike bookwyrm that's basically just an 'animal' that runs on instinct, Ink Imp is smart, malicious, and mischievous.
