Hi friends!

Today, I discovered a little milestone that made me smile: my 'Doubt' reaction video finally crossed 1,000 views! 🎉 This might not seem like a big deal, but here's why it's special to me.

If you've never seen that video, you're not alone: it is by far my worst-performing YouTube video and for a while it seemed like it would never cross 1K views. It flopped pretty hard! My brother and I would even joke about it – any time a video's performance failed to meet our expectations, we'd ask "is this another Doubt?"

But looking back on it now, I'm proud of that little video. I was still so raw and new to this reaction thing, and it was the first time I watched a "serious" drama film on the channel. I watched it without knowing anything about it, and I found myself enthralled by the fantastic performances. The movie poses some difficult questions, and it offers no clear-cut answers. Watching the outro now, it's so interesting to see how much I struggle with it!

Today I pulled up the raw files from my reaction, and it's such a mess. I'm doing things that I would never do nowadays. I stop and start the video multiple times. I "talk" to my brother/editor in Spanish and ask him to leave certain comments out. Sometimes I speak over the dialogue during crucial scenes. Sometimes I don't talk at all when I should be saying something. It's pretty rough around the edges!

But it serves as a reminder of how far we've come. How I dove headfirst into this YouTube thing without really knowing what I was doing, and how I figured things out little by little, fine-tuning the process to what it is today. And I'm still doing that! I'm still learning how to do this better with every post. Thanks so much for coming along with me.

If you haven't watched my Doubt video, maybe give it a shot. https://youtu.be/fUptzU3_4YM

And to celebrate its little 1K milestone, I'm making the full uncut Doubt reaction available here on my Patreon, to all paid tiers. Come watch along with me and your copy of the film. Just excuse the random Spanish and the times when I briefly disappear from the screen because Phoebe needed to be let out of the room.

Have you watched my Doubt video? What do you think?
Would you be interested in seeing me react to more serious dramas on the channel?

I watched the movie when it came out, so it's been awhile. It's an amazing cast (RIP Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and I'm going to give this a rewatch soon along with your reaction. PS - You're doing great!

A great Hoffman film: "Capote"
