Changes to the Patreon (Patreon)

Hey everyone! I'm making some major changes to this Patreon page over the next month, and I wanted to give y'all an early heads-up.

Here's the short version: over the next month, this Patreon page will be going away...  mostly. 

(I say 'mostly' because I'll continue to keep the Discord tier available - I know many of you prefer Patreon to YouTube or Twitch for accessing the Discord, and I want to leave that option available for those who want it.)

When I first launched this page two summers ago, your support enabled me to make the Mario Hair video, the Tetris Effect video, the Hideki Kamiya video, and dozens of others. You really had a major hand in funding all the weirder, more experimental videos I've made over the past two years; if this Patreon hadn't given me the freedom to make weird stuff like the Mario hair video, I truly think my channel have taken a very different (and, IMO, worse) direction. 

I'm extremely proud of the YouTube content I've put out since launching this Patreon (33 video essays in two years!), and I've learned a shitload - both about the type of content I really love making, and how to structure rewards for people who want to financially support my channel. (On that note: if you're a supporter in any of the $6+ tiers: be sure to read this post!)

Lastly: I want to thank y'all once again for all the support. Whether you've been a backer for 1 month or for the full 26-month run (I'm looking at you, Upgrayedd!), your support means the world to me.
