There she goes, deep in thoughts again.

"How do they even make leather?? Is it made of someone's skin? Who DOES that?!"

Of course, she's not just there to be our modern Kierkegaard. She's got a mature and reasonable personality, which contrasts with her younger self: haughty, sassy and nasty despite her cutesy looks. Really, how else would a tiny girl earn any respect around a whole group of rowdy boys?

She's grown up now, so she doesn't have to put up appearances. Let's say her artsy side doesn't mind at all being surrounded with guys of various builds... nor does her heart~

I always imagined Pipsy as sweet and innocent-minded (which would be a turnoff for the others because they'd perceive as being too naïve or girly). However, I'd love the idea of her being somewhat of a tomboy as a kid with the personality contradicting the looks.

That may be a more natural take on her, but I just don't think it makes her interesting enough to compete with the rest of the group... While everyone else has their situation and personality, Pipsy is the most relatable because she's a bit of everything. And she asks questions that no one else dares to! She's inquisitive about the world just as we might be.
