Fun little episode here getting to know more about Sein's backstory as well as meeting an old friend of Frieren.

Yet another great episode and reaction! I like the comparison of the backgrounds to Bob Ross paintings - all those happy little trees! It is also great to see the contrast in who Frieren was and is now, that 1% really did change her.

I feel like you might not have fully picked up on how interesting the parallels with Voll and Frieren and also Himmel are. Himmel was clearly very impacted by Voll's desire to still keep fulfilling his wife's wish until now. I think to Himmel it was quite the example of the complicated dynamic between a human and a long living species like Dwarfs or even worse, Elves. That's why we focus on how much it affects him through multiple close shots. And he reassures Voll that it would've probably made his wife happy to know he has continued doing this, probably also implying that Himmel would wish to be remembered and cared about by Frieren even after she dies. I also think the way Frieren's character is shown off is one of the most interesting in a long while, it's not like we necessarily learn anything new, but her so outwardly expressing how important Himmel is to her and how she's super confident in remembering everything she knows about him is interesting. When Voll says he doesn't remember what his wife looked or sounded like anymore, I think the possibility of such a thing even happening terrifies Frieren, which is why she denies the mere chance and quite literally copes by assuming it's a joke he made (In the following conversation though, it becomes obvious that at this point he's so senile he doesn't even realise the Demon King's already been defeated, hence a very shocked expression from Frieren, because I think at that moment she not only realises he doesn't know that, but also realises her cope from earlier might not be as accurate as she wishes it was). I think while she's been observing that Himmel is fading from others' memories, the fact that technically her memory also isn't absolute and could fade away in time is something that she hadn't even thought about before, and it's certainly a chilling thought

Also one thing to point out is that you can kinda tell how long ago it was when Kraft was the hero by just looking at the outfits the statues have. They're both wearing very greek outfits, the same that Flamme was wearing 1000 years ago

You're probably right I didn't exactly catch all of that on first listen, but yeah I think that deep down Frieren REALLY doesn't want to forget about everything because she's only just acknowledged what everything means to her in the first place. I definitely didn't consider how deep this episode actually was on a first watch basis
