The issue with his mom... I think older folks can feel this way for two reasons. One is they actually want to control you. But the other is because they grew up in a different age, they might actually be trying to protect you. I remember when I told my mom I was dating a black girl in my twenties. She was against it at first. Not because she dislikes black people or thought anything negative about mixing races. But in her age, interracial couples weren't treated... Well. So even though I got angry with her, I came to understand her heart was in the right place. That's what I'm hoping for here. Jp isn't always very... Friendly to those who won't fit in.
