You did call it. We don't know that the dark elf IS the mage, but I think it's likely, just wonder if they'll actually recognise Laios or if the paintings didn't actually matter.

I can't imagine a world where they show us everything going on in the paintings and that the Elf explicitly recognized Laios after he went in a few times if the Elf wasn't going to remember him.

I agree, and them showing us several different time periods just for him to be hungry after anyway seems VERY intentional, that elf is already pissed about the dark magic, so once they also see Laios... oof.

Marcille with all that torn bloody look made her seem like the unhinged necromancer final boss of the anime. If you made someone watch that necromancy ritual part first. Would they ever look at Marcille as the lovable wholesome elf if they start the show?
