They hooked up years ago when Billie was staying in town (before Billie was butch) Bertha carries a flame for her even now, but won't admit it to herself, and Billie doesn't think she still likes her because she's not femme. A hot mess.

With the first sequence, I'm trying to do more hatching and linework, and boy, it was hard! I was so scared to fill the hair that I did it in pencil first. I included a picture of my hand for scale ;P I figured I'd keep them small to save my wrists! I was so so tempted to add a grey tone, but I resisted... I think I could have done more hatching to suggest a nighttime atmosphere, though!

I really enjoyed the second style, with more flat black areas, and less line definition. I think it's way closer to the way I paint, and I think I'll try to use that style again for the next sequence! I'm considering pairing it with a single grey, vs the more washy varied greys in the first sylvia + jerry sequence.
