I had so much trouble on the second panel! In pencil it worked quite well, but once all the colours started fighting for attention I had to figure out a way to keep the illusion of depth! I tried So many things, and eventually resorted to blurring the foreground, but it's something i try not to do, because I don't think it fits the style well! My usual rim lighting strategy looked so strange, because the light is coming from behind their heads, so that was out! You can also see I added a darker multiply layer to add shadow to Sylvia and the doorway, to increase the contrast between the subjects.
