0021 - Milhouse Van Houten (Patreon)

A quick minor detour before we get to the actual show! I believe this is the only character we'll be covering outside of the main canon, in an advert that aired before the show did. Milhouse is unnamed in the commercial, but was apparently designed by Groening, so they folded him into the actual show (he's in the first episode, even!)

Everyone knew a Milpool growing up. If you didn't know one...you were probably him (I know I was.) Awkward and a little strange, but he's much easier to have affection for as an adult. He is almost the quintessential representation of childhood within the Simpsons universe - Bart and Lisa have too wide a breadth of experience and adventures to act as children 100% of the time, but Milhouse is pure unADULTerated* childhood logic.

This makes him very fun to watch! He's certainly a fan favourite, and we're gonna get a lot of fan favourites in these early days.
