Hey lovelies. Just letting you know where we're at following my previous post
As you know, the animation files got fucked up. My animator has made some efforts to fix them, but these also seem to be wobbly too. Not only are they all twisted up and wrong, but they're actively crashing the game on load. It's a headache.
Still though, I've been working on things around the animation nightmare. Here's where we're at:
(DONE) Plan out the encounter, figuring out what art assets I'll need
(DONE) Figure out what attacks they'll have
(DONE) Create a design document detailing all of these things for an artist to go through
(DONE) Get a quote from and pay said artist for their good time and effort
(DONE) Find an animator to animate idle sprites once the artist has finished creating them
(DONE) Pay said animator for their time and effort
Implement the animations using Dragonbones
(DONE) Add a curio csv entry for each variant of the chest (tongue chest and Tentacle chest)
Add prop chance tables to dungeon folders for each chest

(DONE) Code the Mimic Art files for implementation
(DONE) Add nodes to animation files so Darkest Dungeon knows where to place things like stun and death markers on sprites
Create Mimic Localization files (lots of writing, barks, etc.)
Create Mimic audio (for all 8 of them)
Implement Mimic audio
We're getting there, but this animation nonsense has been really driving me crazy.
