SO ! I decided that before I really dive into my story about Quinn and Jaz, I'd give a simple one-shot a go, to test out my narrative skills as they are haha

Basic premise for this one- A tutor arrives at her student's apartment, only for him to shrink during the visit. He needs to make her aware of his existence before she accidentally squishes him :0 !

And, question: do you think it'd be alright to leave these pages as rougher sketches (a little bit more polished than what it is currently), should I go for a more manga look, or should I go all out with coloring and shading and such? Something in between? Let me know ^^

Oh shit, i love this premise. Also your manga style looks great, nice job. :)

I think the sketchy design is fine, though you should probably give slightly more detail to the building in the last panel 😅

I'm glad! I figured since it's a oneshot, I could just do something rather simple and fun ^^ And thank you! :]

Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out! :D As for the question at hand, I personally would be fine with the rougher sketches/manga-esque look, given it's overall a fun practice project you're doing before you kick off your story with Quinn and Jaz! ^-^

Hollewdz

oh definitely -- I've got a thing against drawing buildings, so I skimped on detail in that last frame X] That'd be one of the things I'd be cleaning up :)

I think it'd be fine to go with rougher sketches for this one-shot. And you could always go back and color it if you change your mind. Will these purely be comic pages, or will you include longer written descriptions for each page?

Sarge

For a one shot, rougher sketch are good to go, especially since your "rough" sketch are great. And when you decide to trully make a colored/shaded/whatever you want version, you will be able to use the finished version as a guideline. In any case, I can't wait to see more of "Title here". It look like a good series with a original title

Asterisk

I'd say sketches or manga look for sure. No need to go the whole nine yards on this. Especially since your focus is more on testing your narrative chops. On that front it may be worth consulting with someone when you're done with a draft to see some outside input.

Hollewdz

For sure ^^ And it's just gonna be comic pages :] the description is just for now, on this page since there's very little context for it atm haha]

Ani-Momo

Ooooh interesting... I can't wait to see how this turns out!

The sketch would be fine, there's a kind of manga creator that expresses with fewest line possible. So in fact, for the same amount of visual information, the simpler the drawing is, the better you are.

I echo the sentiment of those saying to have this one-shot comic be drawn in a monochrome sketch style. It looks really good, so please continue with that style!
