May 2020 Sketches 8 (Patreon)

Here's a picture featuring my character Zaid, a "paint demon". The idea was suggested by Amaranth Anhrefn. 

"Zaid finding a super colorful garden and just losing himself to the multicolored hunger"

Him being used to live in his world made of paint, he wasn't used to the more "normal" colorful things in other worlds. So, one of his friends decided to bring Zaid to their home world for him to experience what colorful things other places that isnt the Paint World have to offer, and his friend thinks he knows JUST the right place to bring him.

His friend told him that he had a surprise ready for him once they arrived, so he had Zaid's eyes covered with a bandana.. So once they stepped out of the portal created by Zaid's friend, his friend uncovered Zaid's eyes. "Surprise! Welcome to my town's local Flower Garden! All the townspeople put lots of effort to take care of this lovely garden, and thought you would like how colorful it was~". His was expenctantly waiting for a response from Zaid, but he didn't get any...but once he looked at Zaid's face, he could see an expression he was quite familiar with.

Zaid's eyes shined with excitement, and drool poured from his mouth...Yep, seems like he liked the surprise alright. "Well then, shall we--" Before his friend could finish his sentence, he was hit by a burst of wind, seeing a red blur rushing towards the garden.

Zaid was rushing towards the vibrant, colorful garden, running on his fours, while drool flied from his open, hungry mouth. He jumped on a bunch of flowers,grabbing them, absorbing all their color, leaving all their petals as transparent versions of themselves, making him grow in size slightly. Loving the feeling, he went ahead and grabbed a bunch of flowers and ate them. For him, the most fun thing is to experience the different "flavors" he gets from different kinds of colors, each color has a different flavor depending of their place on the color wheel, tone, brightness, saturation, etc.

By eating them, his growth rate started increasing, surging upwards, and covering much more area with his body. His body itself can absorb color too, so color particles could be seen raising from the flowers, floating around Zaid, and then being absorbed into his body, making him grow constantly. Once he finished a patch of flowers, ending with huge belch that made every gardener aware of his presence, he headed for the next. Each step making small quakes around the area, making paint particles fly out of the flowers, ground, anything that was in his path, and flying towards him, making him grow with each step he made, leaving behiand a blank road of transparent flowers and objects.

Seeing his gargantuan friend having so much fun, growing  at a ...much faster rate than he thought, Zaid's friend couldn't help but to softly smile. He was worried that Zaid wouldn't be happy leaving his Paint World, and feel bored in his friend's more normal world, but seems like things will be quite alright....

...As long as Zaid controls himself. Zaid's friend already has to explain what's going on to the town's gardeners, and then also see if Zaid will end up eating and outgrowing the whole park...and hope he won't eat the rest of the town next...
