Greetings adventurers!

I’ve never been much into the art of distillery. Something about the fiddly temperatures and exact points of evaporation and condensation just makes my head spin. At least with alchemy there’s a larger measure of experimentation and the excitement of blowing myself up should I get it wrong. It did catch my attention when a local distiller claimed to be able to distill the very essence of a place, time, or scene. I didn’t understand what he meant until he showed me his method, which involved spending far too much time at taverns. I’m not sure if he’s actually capable of distilling the essence of a place, but I won’t deny this brew is something potent when opened.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
I’ve always had a soft spot for consumables. We don’t often design them here at AB, but mostly because people have expressed more interest in permanent items. I still like to get back to single use ideas from time to time as they have a lot of interesting play effects that could be implemented. The choice to use the item at the right time or to go seeking out the perfect “key” to get past an encounter that you know is coming is something that I find quite entertaining to pursue. Consumables can have a bit more power than their permanent counterparts and not cause nearly the problems in a long term campaign. When they hit right though, the moment is perfect.

For this one, I really just knew the idea from the start. I wanted a way to incite that classic tavern brawl that we see in our campaigns. I’ll be real with you, I’ve actually never run a standard tavern brawl. I just don’t set up my worlds that way, but I thought it would be a hilarious idea for someone to be able to kick on off if they wanted to.

The actual design of this was quite simple. Sometimes I find that the hardest part is generating a good idea and once that idea is set, then everything is in service to the rules. That was the case with this one and it actually came together quite easily. Dispersion, check, effect. Nice and easy. The added degrees of success in PF2E did allow for some interesting additions though.

I’m working through getting the digital Katalogue ready for release. I’m not yet ready to put a release date on it, but keep your ears to the ground on our Discord server where I’ll be asking for some volunteers to help test and make sure things are in order prior to launch.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
