Greetings adventurers!

Many holy sites across these lands hide riches and relics and tools of powers unknown. Should they fall into the wrong hands, it could herald dangerous times for the inhabitants of theses realms. Luckily, some have divined a way to protect these holy places and items with an unlikely source, morphing stained glass into constructs with the simple goal of protecting their charge. These Stained Luminaries stand as vigilant guardians, watching and waiting for any that may step too far.

Design Notes By Matthew:
I've always thought that the divine offerings in official materials are a bit lacking. There's your standard bag of angels and divine beings, but beyond that we don't see a lot of variance. We haven't even had much in the way of interesting divine inspired adventures. I'm always one to try to fill voids where I see them, and the idea of a divine construct was just too interesting to pass up.
I knew from the start that I wanted to include some form of stained glass imagery with it, but only in talking to Fernando did I realize we could just make the entirety of the creature from stained glass itself. It's a very evocative image and giving it a magically hardened shell of this divine infused glass lent itself perfectly to an item that we could add-on with it.
Most of the mechanics center around the light that it emanates. I always like giving creatures a "gimmick" and letting everything else play around that. In this case, I knew that light itself could be that gimmick. Giving it radiant absorption telegraphed by the fact that it emits light itself, came in a bit late to the game but I think it fit in perfectly.

Seth

I absolutely looooove this. The idea of Paladins/Clerics (but mostly Paladins) having almost no worry in regards of resistances to their big ticket item are very few. Short of finding some way to shoe-horn in a Celestial or something similar to that, like someone affected by a Celestial, Paladins never have to worry about having diminished returns for their smites. Currently playing a Paladin myself right now and we have run into two creatures that gave me an "Oh shit" moment, one being what may have been a Celestial Panther or something, it was resistant to my level 3 Paladin smite, and just recently some super Whyte that just canceled it. I do enjoy making Paladins have some difficulty with their jobs since it is a really good class for everything it gives. Awesome monster

I missed this when we released it but thanks so much Seth. This was an amazingly kind comment and it made my day for sure. Yeah Paladins typically have some level of standard competency due to everything being "evil" but this really flipped that on its head in a fun way for me. So glad you liked it as well!
