Greetings adventurers!

Gleaming bright in the sun, this robe just will not hold on to any dirt. Trust me, we tried our best. We poured all kinds of condiments on it, rubbed it in the mud, heck we even tried some weird eldritch stuff that was in a spent KraCan but to no avail. This thing just will not get dirty. We did try some other experiments with it and well, I can definitely say this robe has some very interesting properties. Hopefully you enjoy it.

Okay, yes let’s get it out the way, there’s a joke here about a tide ad. I couldn’t help it, I just had to put it in when I had the idea for this. You see, I love the idea of status effects, but there’s not much that actually plays around with them in the core magic items. Like sure there are things that apply them, making you immune to them, and remove them, but why isn’t there anything that actually lets you manipulate them in different ways? That’s what I wanted to tackle with this.

The idea started with the name on this one. The tale of tabula rasa, the clean slate. That was my starting point and where I wanted to take the design of it. I had an idea for a gleaming white robe that would get dirty over time as you take damage and you could then wash that away with a healing wave of some type.

While that initial idea was cool, I thought that it could actually be a bit more interesting to access a lesser used part of the game and that’s where the status effect idea came in. Giving you the opportunity to build up and store status effects as stains on the robe then unleash them in a strategic fashion, well now that sounds cinematic which is what we aim for!

The art for this robe really took it to another level and I have to give a shout out to my other half in this endeavor Fernando. He’s been going through a move recently so you may have noticed the lack of his illustration notes. Fear not, they’ll be back soon. I can’t wait to show you what else we have. It’s only going up from here.
