I’ve discovered Car Teleporter for Blender. It’s a huge product of fully rigged luxury cars, complete with asset browser. All cars are compatible with the Rigacar add-on, which can be used to let all cars drive along a path/surface, rotate its wheels and even simulate the suspension and breaks.

I wanted to let you know about this product and will cover how to use it in upcoming videos. You can buy individual cars for as little as $11, or buy a small collection, or get the whole pack of over 90 cars for $120! Thanks to Elmas for bringing us these incredible models:

Hey Jay, I've struggled importing 3rd party car assets into Daz. The advice I've gotten on the Daz forums has basically said that some cars just don't import well into Daz. Are these set up in way that it seems like they could be used in Daz without too much complication?

Sadly it’s the same here: I’ve tried importing these cars with varying formats, as just as many varying degrees of success. While a regular OBJ will work best, it doesn’t contain any rigging. FBX is the worst (as always, although the new FBX importer works a little better). Collada brings across everything, including materials and rigging, but it splits the object into so many little pieces that it’s a nightmare to tweak the materials. Watch this space though, if I do find an easy way to make it happen, I’ll certainly report back on it. For now it’s Blender only, or an OBJ export. Having said that, unless you need four animated wheels, it’s pretty easy to quickly rig a door or hood from scratch, so that’s always an option.
