I spent the whole day rebuilding my main rig, and aside from it being a lot of work, everything went well. Most of my apps are back in action, most of my data is saved in various cloud services, and the rest of the pieces are slowly falling into place.

While I was at it, I thought it would be helpful to show how to install DAZ Studio on an otherwise empty system. Even though I've done it countless times, there are pitfalls that can be daunting to newcomers. I'm taking you through the process step by step, and I'll  also explain how to change the default installation folder to another drive.

Enjoy!

Hi Jay. Great video. I did have one small question though. Say I did have a couple of terabytes of Daz stuff from over the years and I didn't want to spend two days downloading from the sight.... Can one copy their library from their former PC to their new PC and have everything work properly? Smart tab and all that. I noticed in your video you chose to re download. Thanks, Nehl

Hi Jason, you can move content libraries from one drive to another by copying the whole folder. It will work as long as you un-map and re-map the folders though the Content Library, however Smart Content won't work. The files are still there, and existing scenes will see the content, and you'll be able to navigate the regular (dumb) Content Library. For Smart Content to remain intact, you'll have to un-install and re-install to a new location with Install Manager.
