My First Ever Unreal Engine Test (Patreon)
Content
I found myself with some spontaneous free time on my hands today, and tried out the Unreal Engine. I've been meaning to test it out for a while, but never had the chance. Here's my first ever test, and I wanted to share it with you.
What can I tell you... it's... unreal! I've made this animation by following Paul Kind's wonderful tutorial "Your First Hour with UE4", available from here.
I'll keep digging deeper into Unreal, and as soon as I know more about how we can utilise it to make 3D pictures and animations without waiting for Iray, and how to bring assets from DAZ into Unreal Engine, I'll let you know.
It's no masterpiece by all means, but considering that I knew nothing about how this thing works, I felt very much at home with the whole interface. I'll write a full article with my experiences over the next few days and post it here when it's ready.
The only other game engine I've tried recently was Unity, and I've written an article on how that went - from start to finish. You can read it here.

UPDATE: I've just finished writing up my 24 hour Unreal Experience, with many details on how I perceived the interface and navigation. Take a look at it here if you're interested
