This chapter ended up around 9500 words, which is either the longest single chapter I've written, or close to it. There was a point where it could have been split up, but...screw it.

This is a double update, so the next chapter will be posted in a week.

I'm not sure I like the idea of this blight self destructing. It seems contrary to what the Blight wants, and would certainly go against the won't hurt Duran vow. On the other hand, it would be the ultimate expression of free will, as twisted as that sounds. It is choosing to deny revelry, that unrelenting desire it claims it can't work against, by ending its own existence for the sole purpose of beating Rob. Might have to stew on this one for awhile.

The final attack would have been aimed solely at Rob. I can change the phrasing of 'self-destruct' if it causes understandable confusion. As for the contradictory desires - that's intentional. It wants to die, and the self-destruct actually wouldn't have achieved permanent death. Only Purge Corruption can do that. But Rob legitimately upset it with his verbal breakdown, and in the moment the only thing it cared about was getting revenge. This Blight was intended to be more 'human' in its thought processes than the others, which Rob notes and was getting worried about, because the last Blight with a mortal mindset was Elanril. If that didn't come across, I can take a look at things in a second editing pass.

Afraid of the price of infinite life begetting infinite nothingness? Just call Jason and be one tennis match away from realizing losing to Jason is worse than infinity! ( he has seen no future where he loses a tennis match)

Fantastic battle! Actually a quite friendly blight, compared to most others.^^

When the blight is using your own lines… « I didn’t hear no bell! Isn’t this Elatra ? I though we were in elatra here! »
