This movie was so much fun! Thank you everyone who recommended it, and then also for voting for us to watch it! It really did have everything, just like the Grandpa said... comedy, romance, adventure, and thrills! What a wild ride.

We had to pause it a few times, because it started hailing and our microphone was actually picking it up! Everything is lined up perfect though, so you can just sit back and watch through like normal :) If there is a teeny bit of noise right at the end though, that's the hail haha. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

I think it seems so much like a book because the writing is like prose. My friends and family quote this movie so often that I hardly know how to talk to people who haven't seen it. For books, try "The Lies of Locke Lamora" which begins the Gentlemen Bastards series by Scott Lynch. You might also enjoy Steven Brust's "Jhereg" which begins his series about Vlad Taltos. If you like the man in black from this movie, and snappy dialog, you should enjoy either of these.

Hahaha I feel like I'm going to be quoting this movie a lot now too. Every line is soooo good. And thank you so much for the book recommendations!

This is such a wholesome family film! I never knew it got the Criterion Collection treatment but I'm happy it did. Watched this so many times I know it by heart lol. Some trivia: When asked to name his favorite thing about making this film, André René Roussimoff (Fezzik) replied, without skipping a beat, "Nobody looks at me." He felt he was treated as an equal, without people staring at him because of his size. He suffered from acromegaly, a hormonal disorder that results when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone which means he reached the height of 6' 3" by the age of 12. He wound up reaching 7' by the time he was an adult and died of heart failure on Jan 28th, 1993. He was known as "Andre the Giant" in the old World Wrestling Federation. Mandy Patinkin has said that the role of Inigo Montoya is his personal favorite over the course of his entire career. He claims that the only injury he sustained during the entire filming of this movie was a bruised rib due to stifling his laughter in his scenes with Billy Crystal. His attempt at holding back his laughter is obvious from his facial expression during his line, "This is noble, sir." Robin Wright and Cary Elwes were smitten with each other during filming, naturally helping their chemistry in the movie. Elwes said that he "couldn't concentrate on much of anything after that first encounter with Robin."
