Upcoming changes to Patreon's iOS app pricing policy (Patreon)

A few days ago, Patreon announced that, starting November 1st, people using their service through the iOS app will be paying 30% more for new subscriptions. This is at Apple’s insistence and was done under threat to have the app removed from their store since they charge that fee for all business done through it.

This will not affect existing subscriptions, nor will it have any impact on people subscribing to Patreon pages without using the iOS app. As far as I can tell, if you use an iPhone, it should be possible to just log into Patreon through the website on your phone's browser instead of the app and get around the extra Apple fee that way, but I’m not sure.

If that won’t work, then using a non-Apple device for Patreon purposes will be the only way to get around their blatant greed.
