So, about halfway through the video, and you and the anime brought up something nearly undiscussed, yet vitally important to some folks. The two very different cultures of consent when it comes to liminal attraction. We have the new way, of always, always seeking active consent for any physical contact, and then there is the usually older crowd, like myself, who, based on life experience and cultural influence, except and expect spontaneous acts of affection. I certain have zero problem with the desire for explicit content being needed by some people, due to the sensibility and respect inherent in such behavior. However, not only is my view of romance largely dependent on spontaneous inspiration and proactively making an effort, but I have more than a couple relationships that could never have happened if myself or my desired partner had stopped to have a conversation about what we would and would not do. Like, like if someone I fancied told me that they would like me to ask before making any new moves or whatever, that absolutely fine, but I would be pretty heartbroken to be told that I would never get, or give, another shocking, sudden kiss or embrace!!! That unexpected sign of affection is precious for me, both directions, even if it's not nearly the usual way it happens. Basically, I don't have an opinion on "what should be done," but I believe there is a great conversation to have there.
