Any thoughts on how they are gonna make up for not explaining anything about the angels and the Tenma War up to this point in the anime. As well as never talking about the Eastern Empire. The light novel mentioned the angels and Tenma War on atleast 2 different occasions before this point. And gave some background on what the Eastern Empire and their violent tendencies to be vague. Can’t help but feel anime only people are gonna be so confused if they don’t make up for S1 being horribly adapted. It’s gonna get so confusing for them.

No I completely agree that the season 1 adaptation was lacking, but if they sprinkle in details like in this episode about those things, then I think it might be good enough. The Tenma War is pretty simple to explain, so one short dialogue should be enough, but as for the Eastern Empire... It will depend a lot on how they present some of the other more impactful characters. I honestly don't think they did anything unfixable, it will just need some extra disposition.
