god.... this episode is such a tearjerker. ren's backstory always gets me misty eyed. i'm really happy she has friends to rely on now, and that she finally made peace with her mother's memory. also, here's a fun little detail i think you missed! the outfit ren is wearing during their performance is actually her mom's outfit from when she was an idol. you see her wearing it in her old idol photos, and kanon found the uniform in the locked box with the other idol memorabilia. it's nice to see her carrying on her mother's legacy that way. also the simple retro design is just super cute haha on a related note, it's really cool to see that school idol lore drop in this episode! ren's mom would've been one of the first school idols in history, because as kanon said, they weren't even called school idols back then. the concept was so new that they didn't even have a name for it yet, let alone a competition like love live to compete in. also since you brought up the whole season 2 drama, i'll give my opinion on that here. honestly, people are WAY too harsh on season 2 just because it didn't take the direction they expected. in my opinion, season 2 is very lovely, and i had a wonderful time watching it. i think you'll have a lot of fun with it too as long as you go in with an open mind. on a lighter note, season 3 is actually coming out this fall, so you won't have to wait very long for more liella content!! i'm super excited for it. i hope you react to that season as well cause i have a feeling it's gonna be a good one.

Thank you for all of the information! I noticed that the outfits looked similar to her mom's, but I didn't quite put the details together, so thanks for that! And I 100% agree that it was really cool to see the idol trend before the official "idol culture" boom! I also am 100% sure I will enjoy season 2 a lot, I really don't mind anything as long as it makes sense in the series! And I am super hyped for season 3, I will definitely be watching weekly when it airs!
