Phil Lindsey and Righteous Reg had the opportunity to interview All Elite Wrestling’s Daniel Garcia before his upcoming matchup against Christian Cage for the TNT Championship at AEW Revolution on Sunday, March 3rd

Daniel Garcia said he would not have agreed to the interview if he knew Righteous Reg would be there.

Garcia told Grapsody he feels incredibly blessed to be part of the AEW Revolution Pay-Per-View. He says taking the TNT title off of Christian Cage will be great. Cage has had a reign of terror on AEW for the past year. Cage is a hateful and disgusting person.

Garcia talked about working on his experience with Adam Copeland. He said it was crazy; he had never thought it was feasible to wrestle Adam Copeland. Daniel said facing someone like Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho was feasible.

He told Reg, “Imagine a couple of years ago at a West Coast Pro show that if you said to Daniel Garcia and Lee Moriarity that one day they would be wrestling Adam Copeland on TNT. I wouldn’t been able to fathom that; wrestling Adam Copeland is crazy.”

Garcia said Copeland is someone he would have never thought he would step in the ring with, but it was an absolute privilege.

Phil mentioned to Garcia that he would like to see him with the TNT title on TNT’s NBA panel with Charles Barkley and the guys. Garcia liked the idea and said they could put him in the dunk contest. He said he would do better than Jaylen Brown.

The PWG World Champion was asked if the dancing during the shows was a detriment to him. He said it’s not to him because wrestling is all about versatility and variety. Garcia mentioned Eddie Guerrero, The Rock, Stone Cold, and Bryan Danielson as people who have taunts they do in the ring. Garcia added that whatever connects with the crowd is good for him and adds a lot to who he is as a performer.

Reg asked Garcia about his connection to Chris Jericho and if it was hard not to be attached to the Jericho Appreciation Society. He said that Jericho is one of the greatest of all time. He says you have to be a special performer not to be drowned out by Chris Jericho’s shadow.

Garcia says working with FTR has been great. He says Dax and Cash are two of the best wrestlers today. Garcia said, “I said they’ve forgotten more about wrestling, than I have ever known about wrestling.” Garcia added he gets better by just talking to FTR.

Garcia said wrestling is constant learning and feels that AEW is the best place for him to continue to learn. He mentioned seeing his peers figuring out things on their own. He mentioned Julia Hart, Anna Jay, Lee Johnson, and Wheeler Yuta.

He talked about being emotionally exhausted after the AEW Continental Classic. He realized that he was exhausted, and that was because he was pouring his heart out into the promos after the matches. Garcia says he never strives to be perfect.

Garcia said he can adjust his wrestling to his different competitors. He mentioned how his match against Adam Copeland differed from how he wrestled Shane Taylor. He mentioned how Bret Hart worked that way and that Lee Moriarity does the same.

In closing, Daniel Garcia jokingly told Reg, “I don’t know when I will see you again, but I hope it’s not soon.”
