The Grizzled Young Vets have been outside of WWE for several months, working the indies and TNA.

After a year-plus run as the Dyad in Schism, James Drake and Zack Gibson left WWE and headed to TNA Wrestling. The former Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid have been embroiled in a feud with Ace Austin and Chris Bey, aka Bullet Club's ABC. It will culminate at this weekend's TNA No Surrender PPV.

This has led to a lot of inquisition regarding the contract status' of Drake and Gibson.  When speaking to Fightful in their first post-WWE interview, the two told Fightful that as of now they're completely independent, which was important for them so quickly after leaving WWE. However, they didn't rule out signing anywhere, whether it be TNA, AEW or even WWE again in the future if the situation made sense.

We'll have a lot more from our talk with them tomorrow on Fightful Select. The full interview is up early for tier 2 members of Select.

I'd like to see them in NJPW as New Japan needs strong tag teams and attractions to bring the audience's in since they've now had a few top stars leave

They’d be amazing in New Japan
