Fightful Select had the opportunity to catch up with Speedball Mike Bailey after TNA’s Hard to Kill Pay-Per-View event in Las Vegas. Joel Pearl of Fightful Overbooked’s In the Weeds Podcast spoke with Bailey, and the two discussed various topics.

Bailey recounted wrestling experiences in Japan and collaborations with fellow wrestlers Trent Seven and Laredo Kid. Bailey also mentioned the unexpected nature of wrestling, speaking about Trent's sudden unfortunate absence from Hard to Kill. Bailey told Joel that he found out he would be teaming with Laredo Kid when he got to the venue.

Bailey said he would like to go after the TNA Tag-Team titles when Trent Seven returns.

He further acknowledged Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin's role in TNA. Bailey also discussed the term 'underrated' in wrestling and stressed the importance of effort, passion, and various styles.

Bailey explained the synopsis of the film The Bounty Hunter, with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. He described it in a way that demonstrates how an audience and a critic differ. He was making the point that wrestling is subjective.

Bailey would talk about his traveling and highlight the value of communicating with his wife, Veda Scott, who is a commentator for companies such as NJPW and REVOLVER. Their schedules keep them apart for various periods. He said video chats have made long-distance communication much more manageable.

Bailey emphasized the need to appreciate all aspects of wrestling, including the opening matches, and consider the perspective of first-year wrestling viewers. He also discussed the dynamics in a wrestling show between performers, promoters, or showrunners and highlighted the positive experiences.

He spoke about the TNA locker room, and he said that was mainly due to good management and scheduling. Bailey praised Scott DA’more's contribution to TNA's success and growth.

He concluded with his goal of consistently surpassing his previous year's achievements in wrestling.
