Fightful Select caught up with Brutus Creed at WWE Royal Rumble Media Day. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp spoke with the recently called-up Raw Superstar.

Sean asked Brutus about the recent call-up to the main roster. Brutus said it’s been surreal; he grew up as a fan watching Raw. Brutus said he adjusted, which was a little uncomfortable, but now he’s starting to feel like he belongs there more.

Brutus said he found out he would be going to Raw full-time the day he got married. He said he received a call from Senior Vice President of Athlete ID & Development Trent Wilfinger telling him, “‘We’re going to need you full-time on Raw.” Brutus said it was a very emotional day.

When asked if he was interested in doing a crossover UFC or MMA fight since the TKO merger, Brutus told Sean, “Maybe once or twice. I don’t know if I could do a whole living of taking a pounding on my face in the UFC. I’ll do a one-off or so.”

Sean would ask Brutus how he came up with the Brutus Ball and who he pitched it to first. Brutus said it was at the Performance Center. He said he and his brother Julius were practicing dives. Brutus said they got to a match, and he hit a dive that they practiced in the PC.

Brutus said he believes the first people it was hit on were Ludwig Kaiser, Wes Lee, and Nash Carter, but could not recall. Sean asked if people were nervous about taking the move. Brutus laughed and said, about 90%, no one has been hurt. Brutus would add that afterward, they say it felt fine, and it just looks scary.

Brutus would talk about Ivy Nile’s success. Brutus told Sean that he loved it and said she was starting to show who she was and was beginning to break out. He added that she gets recognized more in the airports than he and Julius do.

The interview ended with Sean asking how Diamond Mine was constantly changing. Brutus said that it was hectic and different. Brutus would add that they knew they just did different things that stood out.
