Tempest represented Fightful Select to speak with 2012 Olympic Bronze Medal Winner in Boxing, Anthony Ogogo.

Ogogo told Fightful Select that it was unbelievable that AEW was going to Wembley Stadium. He said he was watching Dynamite when Tony announced it and thought Tony meant Wembley Arena.

The AEW wrestler told us he has been going to Wembley his whole life. Ogogo said he has gone to many Football games and concerts. He believes it’s the greatest stadium in the world.

Ogogo said, “The best thing Tony Khan did when he christened AEW was getting us on iTV.”  Ogogo would add, “Every house in the country has channels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Every house in the country can watch AEW on iTV.”

He told us that UK fans are passionate and came out in droves. Ogogo said he hopes they do 10,000 more tickets next year and that AEW will keep growing and growing. He said he hopes to be wrestling for a title at Wembley within the next couple of years.

Ogogo said Cody Rhodes was the one who found him and that they met through Diamond Dallas Page. Ogogo said he signed on May 1st [2019] and was signed before the four pillars. [‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and MJF]

Ogogo said it took him seven months to get his Visa. He said he managed to get his Visa and was in the United States for three weeks before COVID hit. Ogogo said he began having problem after problem. His Visa was essentially revoked because it was stolen. He said it’s been a nightmare.

Ogogo said he wanted to stay with AEW because nobody had seen him work, and he only had essentially three matches, including one PPV match against Cody Rhodes.

Ogogo believes he owes it to Tony Khan and the AEW fans to show what he could do in the company. Ogogo mentioned he likes being there and that there is more TV time now, and when he gets the call, he’ll answer, show up, and do his job.

Ogogo told us he genuinely believes he is one of the most enigmatic wrestlers in the world. He said Will Ospreay is unbelievable, but he doesn’t do what Ospreay does and also mentioned PAC the same way.

Ogogo said he had been a wrestling fan his entire life and never paid attention to the behind-the-scenes stuff. He wanted the story to be real; he compared it to James Bond. He said he doesn’t follow Daniel Craig on Instagram because Craig is James Bond, and that is who he wants to see.

Seems like a good dude but I think appearing so quickly on such a major stage hurt his career. His biggest claim to fame at AEW now is, unfortunately, proximity to some of Cody's most ill-thought-out stuff.

I mean this is the oddest situation. He has been under contract for how long and how many times has he appeared for AEW? Even if green you would think they would use him on ROH?
