Konosuke Takeshita Tells Fightful Kenny Omega Should Leave Wild Matches To Him (Patreon)

Konosuke Takeshita is on the ascent in AEW, but has a storied history in DDT that continues this week in facing Chris Jericho.

Scott Edwards (@ScottEWrestling) of Fightful spoke to Takeshita ahead of DDT Ultimate Party 2023 on November 12. 

Takeshita says they could have done this match in AEW, and possibly will in the future, but Jericho being in a DDT ring felt like a big deal. He also said that eventually, he and Ibushi need to have a singles match. Takeshita believes he's getting bigger matches alongside Don Callis. 

Takeshita says that Kenny Omega is a wreck physically from his wild matches, and perhaps Omega should leave those kinds of matches to him. It's important to continue to test himself in DDT to see if he's grown from his AEW experiences. If his title defense record for the KO-D Undefeated Title is broken, he might go for it again. His primary goal is to win a title in AEW and defend it weekly on Dynamite. 

Takeshita also wants to face Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii. He thinks Kazusada Higuchi and Daisuke Sasaki would make great members of the Callis Family. 

Regarding 37Kamiina, he felt like there wasn't much more he could teach them by teaming with them, so decided to fight them instead.
