Fightful spoke to Larry D ahead of his retirement match in Cynthania, Kentucky against Moose on November 4.

Larry, who was working 300+ dates a year while working a full time job in 2019, said that spending time with his family became a priority for him after losing his father this year, and his house to a fire. He's remaining involved with wrestling, and promoted Generation Next Pro Wrestling with Maxx Sledd, and training students at his school. He'd also noted that he'd love to work in producing matches in the future.

He said that his relationship with IMPACT Wrestling was a positive one, and just felt like when he asked for his release that it was the appropriate time to leave. He says he's always happy to do work for them, and really enjoyed Wrestle House and getting to stretch his legs from a creative and performance standpoint. He was quickly brought back for a spot on that, and joked that he got booked better after he got his release.

He said that while a lot of promotions stopped running during the COVID era, he was still busy as he was in driving range of a lot of cities that needed to book talent.

Larry said that he'll "never say never" about wrestling one offs, part-time or full-time again, and it would be a thing that he broaches with his family and discusses what is best for them.
