Fightful Select caught up with AEW’s CJ Perry for an exclusive interview as she promoted her website CJPerry.com. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp spoke to the former WWE Superstar about numerous topics.

CJ told us that she is super excited to be part of AEW. CJ loves the world of wrestling, and there is nothing like it. She said she had missed it since being gone from the WWE.

CJ said she was attending both WWE and AEW live shows as a fan, and she did it because of her love of Pro Wrestling.

She told us that it was fun to reunite with her friends when she visited shows. CJ said she calculated that she had been on a plane 800 days in the eight years of being in the WWE. She loved being on the break, but she missed her friends.

CJ says she realized immediately when she went into the AEW Women’s locker room she felt better about being there. CJ said she needed the energy and then while laughing, said, “Miro is never going to talk that much.”

She spoke about CJPerry.com and one of the tier’s Hot and Flexible. She said that Miro named it. CJ said Mercedes Mone [Sasha Banks] and Bayley were “busting her balls” about the tier when she last saw them both. She explains what the tier included. It includes a Zoom call, behind-the-scenes extras, and more.

CJ told us that when Miro cuts a promo, he does not tell her beforehand what he will say. She says as far as why she did not go to AEW sooner, it was a timing situation. CJ mentioned that she had some projects, and that’s why it never happened sooner. CJ says it worked out for her to join AEW in September and that Miro’s idea was to bring her in.

Sean informed CJ that she had over 230 matches in the WWE, which CJ was shocked to hear. Sean asked CJ if she planned on getting in the ring to wrestle at AEW. CJ said she wants to help make champions and is launching a management company and scouting. CJ was non-committal to wrestling.

She mentions that she and Miro are very competitive. She talked about her time on the reality TV show The Surreal Life. CJ said they connected right away with Dennis Rodman on the show.

CJ said Rodman pulled her aside and said, “You shouldn’t wrestle, you need to manage. That’s your calling. You’re going to be the best manager, but you’re never going to be the best wrestler because you have Charlotte Flair.” CJ said deep down, she knew he was right.

CJ said whenever she works with someone, she always asks them to tell her their goals and dreams.

Sean asked CJ who was the person who pitched the Bobby Lashley, Liv Morgan, Lana (CJ), and Rusev (Miro) storyline in the WWE. CJ said it was Vince McMahon who came up with the storyline.

CJ says she is thankful for the storyline because it earned her the largest contract in her career, and she learned that scandals sell. CJ mentioned that the storyline made the WWE a lot of money, and the Youtube videos made the WWE a lot of money. CJ said she resonated with the story.

CJ said she was a little sad when WWE took away the third-party content ability from their talent. However, she said she had a good contract. CJ said it was one of the only things she felt she had control of in her career.

The interview ended with CJ talking about her website, CJPerry.com.

"CJ said she was a little sad when WWE took away the third-party content ability from their talent. However, she said she had a good contract.
