Matt Riddle wasn’t around backstage in WWE, even before his release.

Fightful Select has confirmed that contrary to rumors last week, former Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle was never planned for the September 18 WWE Raw show. One source that we spoke to said that the rumor likely emerged from outdated information, and that he was never in the creative plans for the show.

Riddle had been off the road from WWE since alleging that an officer at JFK airport sexually assaulted him, leading to an internal investigation by the Port Authority. Riddle was removed from the September 11 Raw, and taken off the road from WWE. He was never planned for a return.

Those we’ve spoken to claimed that since then, Riddle was not factored into immediate creative plans. He was doing some grappling training per usual this week, and was said to be in good spirits before his release. However, one WWE higher up said that he burned through too many chances while in WWE.

Is there any merit to Kris Zellner saying "what the general public doesn't know is way worse than what they do know"? Not sure why the vague posting already started

"Riddle had been off the road from WWE since alleging that an officer at JFK airport sexually assaulted him, leading to an internal investigation by the Port Authority. Riddle was removed from the September 11 Raw, and taken off the road from WWE. He was never planned for a return. " I.....wow.

I'm not sure what WWE is aware of, but there are things that haven't come out about Riddle yet. It's up to the persons' to come forward if they choose, but this isn't the last of the Riddle drama. He is talented in the ring for sure, but he isn't worth it.

Riddle release doesn't shock me I actually thought after his second suspension last year that he was on borrowed time with the company Riddle reminds me a lot of Jeff Hardy in WWE. Someone who the audience love & cleary the company wanted to push but unfortunately the one person who stopped that from happening was Matt Riddle he kept getting in his own way. I think the final straw was the airport incident & I can't blame WWE for giving up on pushing him as he couldn't be trusted to be reliable & it's hard to blame them for releasing him. I never want anyone to lose there job but it's understandable in thus case Matt unfortunately brought it on himself

I get the comparison to a degree, but Jeff doesn't have any sexual assault allegations. DUI's are very serious though and he has bulldozed opportunities. I have no clue what the airport incident was all about. I'm curious if that will ever be explained.
