- Got recruited to Jakks at 29 when he was with Mattel. Lived in the south and had a connection to wrestling. Sales of wrestling toys were way down after attitude era and Walmart was considering pulling them off the shelf. Sat with Vince McMahon and pitched doing the Classic Superstar line to boost sales. Vince thought it was good for business.

Ultimate Warrior wanted limited edition figures that he could sell himself.

Says Matt Cardona and Brian Myers have brought a lot of legitimacy to collecting.

Thinks AEW would be fine and open to working with non-AEW/unsigned talent for figures, but wants to build AEW brand.

Reached out to Chalkline, who owns LJN, and deal came together easily.

Wanted AEW LJNs to be the same size as the original. Cody wasn’t the same scale as the original. Said it was a miscommunication.

Says potential to do NJPW figures is outside of his domain to speculate. Says AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door partnership “makes sense” to expand to retail, but can’t confirm anything.

Hopes to have four to six styles a year on the AEW supremes

Sits down with Ringside Collectables to come up with certain ideas for RC exclusives. Says you never know which moments will live 10 years from now and become a bigger deal.

Wishes he had Britt Baker in line one for AEW figures and they waited too long. “Playfully, she wanted to kill me. In reality, she wanted to kill me.”

Wanted to do an Owen Hart figure for years, but couldn’t get there during his time with WWE. Praises Chris Jericho and Tony Khan for helping make that happen when AEW partner with Martha Hart. Would love to do an Owen figure in authentic gear.

Loves that Mattel is doing a Muhammad Ali figure.

Logan Paul reached out to him during COVID to discuss Pokemon and collectables. Paul wanted to know the Pokemon card Holy grail. Padawer happened to know the person who had the Pikachu PSA10 illustrator 1/1. The card deal was for $6 million. The guy took a PSA9 illustrator and $4 million. Paul wanted Padawer there with him when the deal went through.
