CM Punk in Blood & Guts? It could have happened.

The Blood and Guts match ended up getting unfortunately hampered at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Bryan Danielson broke his arm at the show, and hasn’t been backstage since, effectively removing him from the BCC vs. Elite match at Blood & Guts. However, CM Punk offered to get involved in the match, we’re told.

Fightful Select sources confirmed Voices Of Wrestling's report that Punk pitched himself as the 5th member of the Blackpool Combat Club’s team. Whether seriously or not, or whether he actually expected the offer to be accepted isn’t known. He has expressed his desire to work with Elite in the past, but said that he’s been told it wasn’t happening.

“Neither team would want him” one source said. When we asked about issues with BCC’s Jon Moxley, we were told that Moxley wasn’t opposed to the idea. However, as of two tweeks before the show, the partners were already determined.

That would've been fun. Damn.

I'm okay with it not happening. If we get some sort of interaction between Punk & the Elite I want it to be the main focus, not just another chapter in the BCC feud.

Part of me is glad punk wasn’t in it cause I don’t think I’m prepared to see punk in that kind of match but also we were robbed of some money making bank. Legal gonna rob of of anything peak with those groups

AH

Sounds like the elite arent willing to do what's best for business

Forceofwilliam

Sounds like you need to working on reading comprehension. "Neither team would want him." It isn't about the Elite not wanting to do what's best for business.

I just wish Punk didn't have to be stubborn with his return promo and shit on The Elite with the whole "TeLl Me WhEn I'm TeLlInG lIiIiIiIiEs" crap. If anything, it sounds to me like it's going to take a LOT more than an apology and a willingness to work with them to make amends.

BC_Auron

Its possible they are keeping working with punk as a negotiating tactic. Or they just don't want to work with him... I'm fine either way.

If it were ever to happen, it would make more sense as part of a feud with cmftr faction vs elite complete with build rather then being tossed in as a 5th memeber at the last minute.

Misty Hollenbeck

Having watched the recent btes about I think we are being built to hungbucks vs cmftr I don’t know how it will get to tv but it’s coming

Dave Stroble

I don’t think Punk would be back if everyone wasn’t on board. It doesn’t do anyone any good until they’re ready to go to have interaction or anything, it works way better with everyone separated, it adds to the illusion. I think we get CMFTR v. Hung Bucks in Wembley.

Cody

Doesn’t even make sense in storyline considering one of Punk’s last matches was against Moxley.

AH

Ok where am I wrong? The elite still aren't willing to do business like I said

Terps

Lmao if the Elite genuinely won't work with Punk at all, AEW is missing possibly it's best storyline ever. Fuckin grow up and work an angle with him. You don't have to be his buddy. It benefits EVERYONE and most importantly, AEW.

rocksolid124

I mean, while I hope they do work things out, I think it's just as childish to say that people should just 'grow up' in response to punches being thrown and a chair being lobbed at one's head. Someone does that at my job, I promise I'm not in any rush to make amends with that person.

rocksolid124

So if someone at your workplace threw punches at you and lobbed a chair at your skull, I'm sure you'd be in a rush to work things out with them. *eyeroll*

Yeah, storyline wise him being added wouldn't make sense here. YMMV but it just doesn't gel.
