Kylie Rae on wanting to continue to wrestle, working heel, and how the Punk Pipe Bomb affected her (Patreon)

The former Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion Kylie Rae joined The Wrestling Perspective for an exclusive interview this week! Kylie had a lengthy discussion with Ace Steel and Dennis Farrell.

The interview started with Kylie discussing her character and desire to learn to be a heel. She also spoke about her inspirations in wrestling and training. Kylie talked about working heel against Dana Brooke on WWE Main Event in December of 2022 and enjoying the opportunity to do it. Kylie and Ace discussed the challenge of wrestling for TV.

Kylie also talks about her inspirations in wrestling and training in the greater Chicago area and with Booker T in his Reality of Wrestling in Houston, Texas. Kylie emphasized the importance of moving with purpose during matches and the storytelling aspect of wrestling.

Kylie would also ask Ace a few questions regarding learning from other experienced coaches at WWE's Performance Center and the significance of being coachable. Kylie and Ace talked about the Chicago Wrestling scene and how he has his coaching tree of sorts. Kylie mentioned she trained under Bryce Benjamin for some time. Ace noted that Bryce Benjamin trained under Eric Priest, and Priest was a student of Ace’s.

She said she planned on training at Vanguard in Chicago after High School. Kylie said her Mother stopped that and said, “absolutely not, you’re going to college.” She did thank her Mom for doing that. Kylie mentioned that CM Punk’s pipe-bomb promo pushed her into wrestling. She attended Eastern Illinois University school and transferred to the Chicago area.

Kylie talked about her mental health and having a support system. Kylie also said that she is twenty months sober. Kylie said she continues to make progress with her health and attends therapy every other week.

She did confirm that she still wants to wrestle and hopes to return to the ring in April of 2024 after the birth of her baby. Kylie also noted that she still goes in to train and do drills but will not get physical with anyone.
