As one would expect, there were some cage rattling due to CM Punk's AEW Collision promo.

Some things that people backstage took note of included Punk removing the AEW mic flag, with it being noted that it was almost exactly how he’d done the same during a WWE angle in the past as well. There were definitely people on both side of things that said that Punk was just getting out what he needed to get out, and others who felt like it was hypocritical to make comments about being “soft” after being upset about his Hangman program, the promos, and the spots outlined. It should be noted that while there were non-disclosures applied to Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and CM Punk with one another, but not with Hangman Page and CM Punk.

Another big line that the roster noticed was “One Bil Phil,” which CM Punk claimed a WBD executive called him. It’s widely speculated internally that this is in reference to a possible all-encompassing AEW broadcast deal with Warner Bros Discovery that was rumored the approach one billion dollars.

After the match, we’re told Punk was checked by trainers as a precaution, but was fine.

Those that we spoke to who had heard from the Young Bucks were told they took it light heartedly, and told those that inquired that things were okay.

Punk is actively planned for this week’s upcoming AEW Dynamite, though he isn’t announced as of yet. Also, his planned match with KENTA at Forbidden Door hasn’t been announced, which we’ve heard is not 100%, but AEW is hoping will happen. At times, Chris Jericho was planned for a Punk feud, which we’ve not heard anything on in quite a while. There were also Samoa Joe and Switchblade Jay White singles matches planned during points of his return, but changes were made.

Could we get Jay White Punk 1:1 at Forbidden Door if no KENTA?

We will see the true vampiric power that Jericho truly possesses if he gets into a program with Punk. He’s already killed the momentum of Starks; Action Andretti is essentially a nobody jobber after losing nearly every matchup against Jericho and the awful JAS, Adam Cole barely escaped with his life from their horrendous Double or Nothing match..

One bill phill could mean a billion dollar deal due to Punk drawing money. I honestly didn’t put that together. I wonder if a lot of this is by design.

When is Sting Jericho 1:1? FD? All Out? All In?

rocksolid124

Sounds like a good thing if the Bucks are saying things are okay now.

Glad Bucks are seemingly showing signs that calmer minds have finally prevailed. I agree that the 1 Bil might refer to that oft rumored deal, but time will tell.

Sting has said he's not doing any more singles matches at his age. So it's not happening 1:1.

"it was hypocritical to make comments about being “soft” after being upset about his Hangman program, the promos, and the spots outlined." That's how it felt to me. He was still whining about Hangman in that ESPN interview and he's calling others "soft"...

BackupHangman on Twitter came up with One Bill Phil back in May (https://twitter.com/BackupHangman/status/1656154080513859584?s=20). The gossip is he and Punk get along well.

I thought 1 bil Phil was pretty explicit. Not sure what else it could’ve referred to.

The Bucks understand a dude cutting a promo. They were angry at Phil coming at them in a media scrum when they hadn’t said or done anything to him. A promo builds business, and they’re not going to have an issue with that. If anything, the fact that ole’ Pepsi Phil is still bitching about Hangman cutting a promo is reflective that he’s the softest dude in the company.

Dave Stroble

I feel that people are tripping over themselves coming up with what it could mean when it is crystal clear he’s referring to the TV deal. It was obvious to me when he said it too.
