After former Grapsody host Will Washington posted a Fanatics nWo shirt, Fightful heard several members of the actual group were frustrated.

We’ve heard that numerous New World Order members felt like that including the WWE logo underneath the NWO logo undermined the spirit of the shirt. WWE's merchandise is all handled through Fanatics, who were made aware of the frustration.

Another WWE superstar actually contacted Fightful after Washington posted the photo and said that a similar situation happened years ago with WWEShop. Specifically, there was a point of frustration with WWE including the “authentic wear” tag at the bottom of the shirt, and also insisting that many of the shirts have text on the back. The talent said they remember numerous wrestlers expressing discontent with that and believing that it negatively affected sales.

We're told that there was consideration made in removing the WWE logo from the shirt, but haven't heard an update.

I’m not sure it necessarily undermines the spirit of the NWO. WCW definitely wanted to make people think the NWO was some sort of WWF invasion in the beginning. It would undermine the spirit of the shirt if there was a WCW logo at the bottom

Meh, the shirts from Homage are way more comfy and don’t have that pesky tag on the bottom.

It's not about the "Spirit of the NWO", but the "Spirit of the shirt". It feels phony. It's the same old NWO shirt, but then there's an extra logo. It's fine if it's hidden inside the collar, but on the front, this design screams "modern copy".

Unless it’s Nash or Hogan, I don’t think anyone else can claim real ownership of the nWo to complain about this
