The WWE lawsuit from former writer Britney Abrahams has opened up a lot of news on pitches

You can read all about the lawsuit there: https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/vince-mcmahon-and-wwe-sued-ex-writer-over-racial-discrimination-and-wrongful-termination

Fightful was able to learn more about some of the alleged pitches outlined in the lawsuit.

Ryan Callahan came under fire for a pitch that would have seen Mansoor revealed as “keeping a secret that he was behind 9/11.” We’re told that in the past, Mansoor and Callahan had maintained a good relationship, and talent were shocked, baffled, and discussed that this was even something said. Callahan had actually been let go by WWE in 2019 after a disagreement with Dave Kapoor. Upon his return he’d worked his way to the top of the Smackdown writing team. Based on what we’d heard, the 9/11 pitch hadn’t even made its way back to Mansoor before the news dropped. Those in the know said it was a joke in poor taste and not a serious pitch.

Apollo Crews’ Nigerian accent gimmick was also outlined in the lawsuit. However, Fightful has long been told that the accent was pitched by an active wrestler originally.

There was a pitch made by Vince McMahon directly to Mustafa Ali in late 2021 that Fightful Select had reported on and noted that it was “something that Mustafa Ali would have never done.” We still haven’t gained clarity on what that was, it was claimed to us that “it was just as bad as the Mansoor pitch.”

Fightful reached out to Shane Haste about the pitches made regarding his character and Reggie. He said he can't speak to how it was elevator pitched to Vince, but the version he heard didn't have anything to do with race, and instead would have been more about the entire 24/7 scene, with Reggie actually escaping most of the traps with acrobatics.

We’re told WWE doesn’t plan on commenting on this, or any legal matters moving forward.

It’s always a “former employee”. Sorry but that just gives me “pick me” type attitude.

No talking about just those suit. Every one sueinf the company seems to have been fired and they aren’t working anymore and are just upset

If WWE was so bad why did she stay there? Most people would quit if they didn’t like what was going right?

Anonymous

I just don’t get these people who sue WWE after being fired but they claim all this horrible shit happened while working there. You’d think they’d quit if they didn’t like the company. God knows I’ve done it.

Not everyone can afford to quit a job even if it's a stressful & harmful environment

Busby

Some folks don’t have the luxury of quitting a good paying job. Folks got bills..

Wulf

So they can’t say anything bad because they were there? They’re supposed to just keep quiet?

rocksolid124

No? People still need money to pay bills, and it's not as easy as wishing for a job to fall in your lap. Plenty of people hate their jobs and stay employed there because you can't just wave a wand and get a good paying job that supports you and your family.

Funny how there’s 2.6 jobs for every unemployed person right now. There plenty of jobs.

It’s called quitting. There’s plenty of jobs out there. They just look petty

2.6 jobs for every unemployed American right now. Not an excuse. You have no right to sue if you were part of the problem. She obviously didn’t care enough to say shit when she was there. It’s called speaking up regardless of the consequences if this shot was true… not once you get fired so you can become rich…

Andy Richmond

Yeah she should definitely give up a cushy writers gig with one of the largest most recognizable brands in the world, to work minimum wage at a dry cleaner. There are so many jobs open because they don't pay shit and aren't sustainable.

"We’re told WWE doesn’t plan on commenting on this, or any legal matters moving forward." Bet this was another Vince decision.
