- Fightful Select caught up with Brian Pillman Jr. of the Varsity Blondes at the Squared Circled Expo last weekend in Indianapolis. Pillman gave Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp an update on the health status of his tag-team partner Griff Garrison. Pillman said that Griff is was close to being able to bump in his training to return.
Pillman says that he and Griff have a big future ahead of them. Brian then told Fightful he’s blessed to have been with Arn and Brock Anderson since Griff had been out.
Pillman says things had come full circle because Arn has always been a family friend, from what his Mom told him. Brian said he and Brock have been hitting some line drives working together.
The former IWC Super Heavyweight Champion would also tell Fightful about the recent AEW house show in Troy, Ohio. Pillman told us he believed the venue held 3,500 people, and they sold 3,400 tickets. Pillman says the house show is a great experience for the fans because of the meet and greets.
He talked about working with Jeff Jarrett at the show and said he enjoyed it because he got 10-12 minutes to work with Jarrett. He also mentioned that it’s very laid back because you don’t have to worry about TV.
Sean asks Brian what happens when Griff comes back, and there is an awkward situation with Brock considering their a team. Brian said you never know because there could be a surprise, a turn, or a twist.
Brian casually mentioned that there could be a barbershop window (referring to the Shawn Michaels turn on Marty Jannetty). The interview would wrap up with Brian telling us that he is back home in Ohio and has never been happier with how things are going for him.
