Jim Miller caused a bit of a stir in noting that he wouldn’t be surprised if WBD was interested in WWE content if they lose the NBA.

Based on information Fightful has received, that hasn’t been the case. Several WWE higher ups had inquired as to whether or not that’s something people within the industry have heard, and noted that they’d not heard about that whatsoever. We’re told there haven’t been conversations regarding WWE with Warner Bros. Discovery. There have been conversations with several places that serve as possibilities, however.

On the other side, sources at Warner Bros. Discovery actually tell us the opposite. There was nothing ill of WWE noted in our conversations, but they indicated that WBD is gearing up to substantially expand their relationship with All Elite Wrestling from both a financial and content perspective that will become evident soon. It was hinted that this involves the upcoming Collision show, as well as more possible content.

Why would anyone think that wbd would even be interested. They're super happy with aew

Because the internet is filled with mutants that want AEW to die and look for any sign

Who here isn't shocked by this? lol

Why do people just make stuff up

There’s no way they lose NBA either.. Ernie, Chuck, and Shaq are amazing. That would be a big loss.

Sounds like AEW is gonna get that bag.

NBCU is going to make a major play for the rights. In the past they said it was too expensive for them. I guess it changed

Good news for AEW

Endeavor said they wasn’t buying WWE either so take these things with a grain of salt these things change throughout the course of time so we have to wait especially in media negotiations

What else would WBD say though. No point in souring the current relationship if the new wanted one doesn’t work out. Also WBD only loses the NBA if they are too cheap and won’t pay the prices.

I am not saying WBD is interested, but it would not not make sense, considering WWE is still a much bigger name.

Sounds like their way of hinting at streaming deal

It is a bit concerning that someone on a podcast can make this comment, and it shows up on so many other wrestling sites as "news" when its a podcast and a guy that doesn't note or mention sources other than "I've heard of..." Always glad to see SRS fire back that nothing can be confirmed. If only other sites were a bit more selective in what they repost.

Not to mention “if they lose the NBA” is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting, since TNT is synonymous with the NBA and no way they get outbid.
