Drew McIntyre's WWE deal is up within the next year, but not imminently.

PWInsider reported that Drew McIntyre's WWE contract is set to expire within the next year or so, which we were able to narrow down a little bit. Specifically, Fightful Select has learned that Drew McIntyre's deal is up “within the next nine months.” It was reported that McIntyre and WWE were not close to a new deal, but beyond that, we've learned that McIntyre made it clear he was going to wait until much closer to the deal's expiration to sign anything as there were a number of factors to consider.

McIntyre is actually one of many contracts that are set to expire within WWE by the end of 2024. After the emergence of AEW in 2019, WWE signed dozens of talent to 5-year contracts that year. Many of them ended up being cut and brought back during the pandemic.

Fightful had been told towards the end of the Vince McMahon era that the company would likely wait until closer to the contract expiration to renew deals, but we haven't learned how that's changed under Triple H.

It goes without saying, but WWE is eager to keep Drew McIntyre, and we're told they hope to engage him in talks later this year.

Drew is gonna have leverage to make more money hope he gets a huge raise on his next contract he deserves it

Joe Donovan

I mean he's gonna leverage a big contract and he deserves a big contract. He was in the same position as Mox in trying to be a pandemic era babyface champion, that can't have been easy.

Wonder how big of a factor Vince is? đŸ€”

I think he likely stays but it’s not a lock. Drew was shown he’s willing to leave and work elsewhere and that was before AEW.

If I were a betting man I say Drew re-signs it’s smart of him to hold of as both WWE & AEW would want him. But given he’s a favorite Triple H & Vince I think he re-signs towards the end of the year. I will say this you never say never say never in wrestling. Daniel Bryan headlined mania 37 & at the time his deal with WWE was expiring I would of put money on him re-signing but he didn’t he jumped to AEW. Cody Rhodes who was one of the founders EVP & TNT Champion at the time was working in AEW without a contract. I would of put good money on him staying with AEW. Didn’t happen he jumped to WWE. So as the old saying goes never say never. Whatever choice Drew makes I hope it pays of

Give me back Drew Galloway

John Horton

I can't picture him leaving. There's no reports that he's unhappy. And he worked very hard to get himself back to the company after his first stint.

Drew Galloway is All Elite

I get that it's a possibility, but I couldn't imagine him leaving, unless it was to go live and wrestle overseas for a spell. Especially after how confusing booking and retention's been at AEW/RoH this last year.

SRS, can you check on Bayley's contract? I thought with them adding time it would be due beginning of 2024 and so is she waiting to see what WWE is doing as far as selling?

Vince is back so might as well start wondering what he thinks about contracts. Don't need a smoking gun between officially filing as an employee with sec and now taking pics with people at WrestleMania. Seems like the time is closer and closer now that ppl are getting comfortable with him around.

Until he wasn't and sent packing to impact/ROH before HHH brought him back to NXT. You never know with Vince.
