The Wrestling Perspective is one of Fightful's newest shows. It is hosted by Lars Frederiksen of the Punk Rock Band "Rancid" and Dennis Farrell. This week, they interviewed IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion Josh Alexander, and he talked on various topics before his big match against Bully Ray at IMPACT

- Josh was asked if he thinks he would be the IMPACT Heavyweight Champion if Ethan Page had not left IMPACT for AEW. He said “probably not, he thinks The North had another year or so before they would have broken the team up”.

- Alexander was asked about his upcoming match against Bully Ray at Impact’s Hard to Kill, and how Ray disrespected him, what are his plans on going after a seasoned veteran. Josh said he is also a seasoned veteran, and that he’s been down that road before. He was at one time the shortest reigning IMPACT World Champion, and now is the longest running champion.

- Josh was asked if it was hard to see that nobody from IMPACT was on AEW, but quite a few people from AEW on IMPACT. He said when Kenny Omega was champion, “there was a bit of a cloud over the locker room.” However, he said it was good, because it elevated their product. He was grateful to face and defeat Christian Cage.

- He was asked if working with AEW talent had any influence on him when he was a free agent. He said “not really,” but he did mention he talked to Kenny Omega, Christian Cage, and Tony Khan. However, he said there were more opportunities for him at IMPACT.

- Josh said he grew up being a major TNA/IMPACT fan. He idolized the home grown talent like AJ Styles, The Abyss, and others. He said IMPACT has a lot of home grown talent currently, and mentions Chris Bey, Ace Austin, and Jordynne Grace.

- Alexander mentioned one of his dreams is to wrestle in Japan. He said top management at IMPACT would like him to wrestle less independent dates. He says wrestling more keeps him sharper.

- Josh Alexander knows he had some great matches, but believes he will always chase the infamous triple threat match between AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels. He lists Styles, Samoa Joe, and Daniels as three of his dream matches. He said Jeff Jarrett was his honorable mention.

The interview will be released on Youtube, and it will also be available on your favorite Podcast platform on Sunday, January 8th at 12:00 PM Eastern.

I second those 3 matches against them

Goddamn, how often do you hear of someone being both the shortest reigning AND longest reigning champion of a specific title? That's insane.
