Big update on ROH (Patreon)

After a long wait, FTR vs. The Briscoes was announced for Supercard of Honor recently.
The match had long been the plan and hope for Ring of Honor booker Delirious, as evidenced by the program at Final Battle. However, we're told that talks really kicked up for the match in January. There were a lot of ups and downs before it was finally confirmed. Along the way, WarnerMedia had made it clear that they didn't want the Briscoes in AEW at the time, which we still don't know how that has changed or if it'll affect their ROH status. Fightful had also been told by many indie promoters that they wanted to book the match, but weren't given the go ahead. At one point it looked like the match wouldn't happen at all.
When Tony Khan acquired ROH, the match was put back together and set for Supercard of Honor. We're told it was "quite the process" and everyone invovled worked hard to make it a reality when it seemed like it would be pretty straightforward initially.
As reported last week, as of this moment Delirious is still with the company. However, we're told that after Supercard of Honor, he'll no longer be committed to the company.
There are numerous former ROH names who were hopeful that they'd be brought back for the ROH reboot. However, many have since had no contact with new ROH management. Those that we've spoken to should be operating on the assumption that they won't be brought in to the new company if they don't currently have a deal, but that could change.
Many people in that same boat were actually planned for the ROH Supercard reboot. Among those include Killer Kross and Scarlett, who we're told were tentatively set for the show and had spoken with Delirious about the appearance, but when the regime changed they'd not heard back.
We're told to expect at least one person on the Supercard show to emerge as a signing with AEW/ROH.
